[ he'll find dal dal there, gently setting cookies into tupperware. the club had finished for the day, and dal dal was one of the last ones to use the oven, so she'd been left to clean up.
once she spies him, she smiles, waving him in. ]
Come in, come in! Try these, oppa, they're fresh from the oven!
[ The smell of freshly baked cookies... He might be drooling if he wasn't self-conscious, but he kinda feels it now, for that exact reason. Let's not flood the floors here. He happily walks inside the room and greets Dal Dal first, giving her a little wave before going to hover over the cookies.
At that moment, shoujo bubbles formed. Flowers bloomed at his feet as the bubbles radiated sparkles all around him. They bloom as seen in a fastforwarded video sequence--rapidly, beautifully, magnificently--
or that could have been imagination. Yeah. Ellis does look delighted at eating a cookie though, so he takes another. ]
All kinds of stuff~! [ she puffs up, beaming proudly. ] I've known how to cook the best of the best since I was young, you know! [ what with her mom being a food researcher and thus a food snob, it only makes sense... ]
Ah, yeah... [ dal dal doesn't look half as impressed. ] My mom's a famous food researcher back in Korea, so she has her own show and everything. Sometimes she forces me to go on it for the ratings.
[ He wonders what kind of normal life she had back home, being proficient with taekwondo and appearing on TV... It sounds like a busy life. He eats another cookie and nods to show his acknowledgement. She seems pretty chipper and he doesn't really want to ruin the mood, so he wonders what kind of thoughts he should convey. Hm... ]
"What's it like though? Appearing on TV? It's not as nerve-wrecking as some people put it?"
[ it was as busy as any high school student with extra-curriculars would have................... also gang fighting but whatevs. ]
Uh, I dunno, I never really thought about it much. [ most of the time, she was there against her will, and so she was just a petulant brat about it, heh. ]
I guess it could be pretty scary if you really think about it? But I'm used to being in front of an audience.
Ah, I'm a tournament fighter! [ she flashes him a thumbs up, as if this were a totally normal thing. ]
I participate in the Wild's League every year, and that's always in front of a live audience and televised, and I rank pretty damn high, obviously~ [ not that she ranks as high as queen BUT WHATEVS WHO CARES ABOUT HER ]
[ "Wild's League"... it sounds scary to him. But wow, Dal Dal is a tournament fighter. He seems even more impressed and it plainly shows on his face as he's nibbling on that cookie, still in his mouth. ]
"What made you be a fighter though? Since your mom was a cook and stuff... did she also fight?"
Hell no. She doesn't like any of it. [ her mom isn't exactly disapproving, but she's never expressed the same interest in it as dal dal herself has. and she's always complaining about how the sport's robbed her of her sweet, delicate maiden daughter. hmph. ]
I took it up to help me lose weight when I was younger, and it kind of just stuck.
[ Ellis looks surprised at the fact that taking up taekwondo could help people lose weight. But then again, it was in the martial arts category after all. Of course it would help. After the small, internal "duh" moment, Ellis grins. ]
"Now you can kick down doors if they get in the way! You must have some method to not hurt your feet when you kick..."
[ given all that you put your body through in order to just be in shape for taekwondo, it's really no wonder how effective it'd been in helping dal dal keep off all the weight from her mother's cooking. ]
There's a science to it, of course. [ she pats his shoulder. ] Once you're ready for it, you'll learn how to, too. You'll see!
action.

"If you appear on a TV show, it boosts ratings?"
